Blow On
Application of a label by air blast to provide non-contact label application. Used where product contact may affect the package to be labelled such as film wrapped delicate produce.
As there are many types of application and machine there are also many types of product, not all of which are uniform in size, shape and presentation. To meet the needs of an application where each individual product is slightly different, such as packaged fresh meats, the application must be detached from the product. To achieve this the Harland blow on solution feeds the label onto an intermediate vac-pad to await the arrival of the product at which point the label is applied via an air blast on to the product and then finished with a secondary wipe to ensure professional presentation. Examples of applications are sandwiches (baguettes), shrink packed meats, fruit etc. etc.
